WORLD WATER DAY

 On 22 March, we celebrate World Water Day. To broaden our knowledge, we watched an educational animation entitled "World Water Day with PAH" during our chemistry lessons in grades 7 and 8. "World Water Day with PAH". We discussed the topic, trying to answer the questions: Where can we find water besides the tap? What does it mean that water is needed to make things? How do our purchases affect water resources? Do plants and animals have the same needs? Is water the source of life? We learnt about the concept of 'virtual water' - we learnt that it is the water footprint or the amount of water that is needed to produce a thing. Everything that humans produce needs water. Producing a computer consumes 26,720 litres, an average bar of chocolate: 1720 l, a pair of jeans: 7600 l. We then recalled the extraordinary properties of water that make it essential for life to exist on Earth. We worked with microscopes looking for 'life in water' in

previously prepared samples. Our aim was to detect the presence of a slipper. We tested the pH of tap water taken from an aquarium and from a watercourse in a Natura 2000 area.

VIRTUAL TOURS OF THE EUROPEAN UNION

 Virtual tours of the European Union by third-grade students

The aim of working using the project method was to learn basic information about the member states of the European Union, learn about the EU anthem, and develop a range of skills including teamwork, using ICT and being able to present their work publicly.

Pupils used ICT and traditional technologies (books, maps, atlases, guidebooks) to gather materials for their posters or multimedia presentations about selected EU countries. In the final of the project, third-graders presented the results of their activities to the class.

STUDENTS FROM SPAIN IN POLAND

 ERASMUS+: From 17 to 22 March this year, our school hosted wonderful students and teachers from the Spanish partner school Colegio Santa Isabel Marchena. Over the course of several days, the students carried out ERASMUS+ programme tasks related to historical, cultural, environmental, linguistic and democratic education.

Highlights of the students' and teachers' stay:

✅enjoying within the framework of the SCHOOL WITH A PASSION shows of the Masters: Krystian Herba, Grzegorz Pittner - Mr. Robot and Iga Klesyk 🤸‍♂️;

✅ integration activities with students from our school and team competition in Kahoot;

✅cultural and historical education: visit to the Museum - Castle in Łańcut 🕍;

✅democratic education: students and teachers from the Spanish school were received by the Acting Head of the Świlcza Municipality, Sławomir Styka. In the course of an hour-long conversation, they had the opportunity to learn about the administrative division of Poland, the functioning of the local authorities, the powers of the Świlcza Municipality Mayor and the Świlcza Municipality Council. A surprise for the Spanish students was the possibility for their peers to participate in the social life of the commune and the functioning of the Youth Council of the Świlcza Commune (three participants in this year's mobility are also Councillors in the current term 😀 );

✅ visiting another educational facility: sports facilities at the Primary School in Świlcza and activities at a virtual shooting range;

✅inauguration of the new season at the ORLIK sports complex in Rudna Wielka and an exceptional first match of the season: Poland - Spain ⚽️ (SP Rudna Wielka - Colegio Santa Isabel Marchena);

✅cultural and historical education: the Rzeszów Cellars - a tour of the underground route and an interactive journey through the history of Rzeszów;

✅Robotics classes at the Podkarpackie Łukasiewicz Science Centre - another new, inspiring workshop;

✅integration at the Janczar Habitat in Pstrągowa: workshops on making bathing balls, a horse ride and sausages roasted on a bonfire;

✅School Sweets Fair 🧁🍩🍪 ;

✅Cultural education: the drowning of Marzanna, an ancient tradition that the Spanish students encountered for the first time. And to be sure of chasing away winter, our pupils made as many as 4 such effigies😁!

The aforementioned activities were extended by twelve families of pupils from our school, who, supporting the school in the implementation of the project tasks, got involved in the programme and welcomed the Guests from Spain. They created a second home for their children's peers for the duration of their stay in Poland. They showed them a great deal of warmth, openness and forbearance - for which I thank them a hundred times ❤️A. By organising afternoons for our guests, they extended and made their stay at school more attractive.

At the end of their stay at our school, the pupils received certificates confirming their participation in the programme. The emotions that arose during the farewell made us realise once again that the it is worth doing Erasmus+!

A GROUP MOBILITY TO MARCHENA

 Our group mobility to Marchena started on 11th March, 2024. We chose six students to take part in this adventure. It was a time of learning, discovering different culture, meeting new friends and getting to know our friends and their families in Marchena.
