JOB SHADOWING IN MALTA

ERASMUS+ – JOB SHADOWING IN MALTA

From 23 to 27 March, Headmistress M. Mazepa and J. Wiśniewska took part in a five‑day job shadowing experience at St. Nicholas College, Rabat Primary School – a Catholic primary school in Malta for children aged 3 to 11.

The school has 420 students and employs over 100 teachers, psychologists, and support staff. Both students and teachers attend school daily from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. School uniforms are required and take the form of tracksuits. Students are not allowed to use mobile phones. Everyone speaks Maltese and English, as these are the two official languages of Malta.

If a student is absent for more than three days, only a medical certificate can justify the absence. Homework is compulsory. If a student fails to complete it, they may stay after lessons to finish it. Assigning homework in every subject after each lesson is viewed positively, as it teaches young people responsibility and accountability for their own learning process.

The school’s motto is: “Education does not begin nor does it end at school.”

The value of Erasmus+

The opportunities offered by Erasmus+ accreditation are truly invaluable. Discovering other educational systems, observing different approaches to working with students, and meeting teachers in their everyday professional environment — all of this becomes an added value to every project activity.
