A TRIP TO THE CINEMA TO SEE „A LETTER TO SAINT JULIO”

What would happen if Santa Claus couldn't reach all the good children in the world one year? A few days before Christmas, Santa Claus has an accident with his sleigh and ends up in hospital. Luckily, Salva, who is in the room with him, is already well and soon leaves the hospital. He has to take on a big mission and replace Santa. But it won't be easy. The clock is ticking and Salva has to find a reindeer, learn to fly on a sleigh and, most difficult of all, learn to be a good person.

On 19 December, Class IV went to the Helios cinema in Galeria Rzeszów to see this charming film. It was combined with a short lesson introducing the theme of respect and empathy for others. The students enjoyed the film and will remember its main message and the time spent together as classmates.

GLOBAL EDUCATION WEEK

Global Education Week is a worldwide campaign that aims to raise awareness of global education as a tool for building solidarity and change and contributing to a more sustainable, peaceful and just world.

This year, Global Education Week took place from 18 to 24 November, and the slogan of this year's edition was ‘Act for the Planet’.

Our school joined the action ‘Global interdependence in our school’. As part of the Global Education Week celebrations with the Polish Humanitarian Action, students from Class VII took up important, topical issues that stimulated critical thinking and initiated discussions about global interdependence and our place in the world. The activities were conducted on the basis of selected materials sent by the Polish Humanitarian Action.

‘MY ENGLISH PICTURE DICTIONARY’

 

On 22.11.2024, in the tradition of previous years, a gala ceremony took place at GCKRiS, during which prizes were handed out. The overriding aim of organising the competition was to motivate pupils to learn English, make them more sensitive to the beauty and culture of English-speaking countries, promote among pupils an attitude of responsibility for the process of independent learning, develop their language skills, realise themselves artistically, as well as integrate the pupil community.

The competition has been organised for years, with the first edition taking place in 2017. A total of 310 pupils from primary schools in the Świlcza municipality took part in it. In this year's 7th edition, the students' task was to create a picture dictionary. Sixty-seven pupils from primary schools in the Świlcza Municipality took part. In our school, Aleksandra Majka (6th grade) took second place and two distinctions were awarded to Joanna Machnicka and Kamila Pałycia (5th grade). The pupils were supervised by Ms J. Wiśniewska and Ms B. Tarnowska-Mazan.

During English language classes we learn about the culture and history of the English speaking countries. On 5th of November we got to know Guy Fawkes, his story and the gunpowder plot's story. Students of grades 3 and 6 created Guy's effigies. You can see them below:

The youngest students learn how to SEGREGATE WASTE

How to segregate and recycle rubbish? What happens with the battery in soil? The students of grade 3 met with Mrs Katarzyna Ruszała - from the EKOSKOP association and they talked about the segregation. Did you know that 1 person produces 1 kg of rubbish every day? We were surprised!

21st Provincial Competition ‘Saint Hubert as a model for the modern ecologist’.

Promoting the history and traditions associated with the cult of Saint Hubert, shaping ecological attitudes and encouraging creative presentation of the topic in an artistic form are the main objectives of the competition ‘’Saint Hubert as a model for the modern ecologist”,  which has been organised for many years by the School and Kindergarten Complex No. 12 in Rzeszów. During the final gala of the 21st edition of the competition, prizes were awarded to the authors of the highest rated art works. Prizes were awarded to 6 students from our school. Congratulations!
