GLOBAL EDUCATION WEEK

Global Education Week is a worldwide campaign aimed at understanding contemporary challenges and inspiring hope and action for a more just world.

This year, Global Education Week took place from 17 to 24 November, and the slogan for this year's edition was ‘Together towards a just, peaceful and sustainable future’.

Our school joined the campaign ‘Global interdependence in our school’. As part of the Global Education Week celebrations with Polska Akcja Humanitarna (Polish Humanitarian Action), students from classes VIIA and VIIB took up important, current topics that stimulated critical thinking and initiated discussions about global interdependencies and our place in the world. The classes were conducted on the basis of selected materials sent by Polska Akcja Humanitarna.

We received a certificate of participation for the participation of students from classes 7a and 7b in the ‘Global Interdependencies in Our School’ campaign, conducted as part of Global Education Week. Participation in such events is a sign of civic responsibility and awareness of global interdependencies. It allows us to better understand them, recognise their impact on everyday life and make informed decisions. It is also a great example for the younger generation, encouraging them to follow suit.

SAVING ENERGY AND WATER

During the parent–teacher meeting, we prepared a special exhibition of students’ artwork about saving energy and water. The display shows creative posters, drawings, and collages encouraging eco‑friendly habits at home and at school. Students used bright colours and strong messages to remind everyone about the importance of protecting our planet. Parents had the opportunity to walk around the exhibition and admire the hard work and imagination of their children.

The exhibition inspired many families to talk about simple, everyday actions that can help save energy and water.

GREEN ECOACADEMY

Experiments with food colouring are a great way to introduce children to the world of science through play. Thanks to simple and colourful experiments, children can discover the principles of chemistry and physical phenomena in a way that is both educational and fascinating.

The first experiment the pupils were able to investigate was the effect of washing-up liquid on dyes in milk. The aim of the experiment was to show how the liquid reacts with the fats in milk and how this affects the movement of molecules and the spread of dyes. The next experiment involved mixing dyes in shaving foam. The aim of the experiment was to show how dyes spread in the porous structure of the foam and to observe the mixing of colours and how colourful patterns can be easily created and physical phenomena observed.
