II MEETING - ŚWILCZA YOUTH COUNCIL
On 10 December, the second away meeting of the Świlcza Youth
Council was held.
Our representatives Oliwia Bułas, Natalia Daleka, Franciszek
Uszyński and their supervisor Filip Nowicki participated in the meeting.
This time, we were guests at the historic palace of the
Prison Service Training Centre in Olszanica in the Bieszczady Mountains. Thanks
to the kindness of Lieutenant Colonel Adam Nieznański, we were able to hold our
meeting in this unique place. Here, we learned about the functioning and
history of the centre and the secrets of the work of this formation.
The meeting was also an opportunity to summarise the
educational project ‘With Marshal Piłsudski on history’ run by the municipality
of Świlcza together with the Podkarpackie Teacher Education Centre and the
Piłsudski Association. The aim of the project was to popularise history through
a series of meetings, workshops and open lessons.

Class V and VI a trip to the theatre
Class V and VI a trip to the theatre
On 15 December, pupils from classes V and VI a attended a performance of ‘Anne of Green Gables’ prepared by the Cracovia Theatre. The pupils enjoyed the performance very much and followed the adventures of red-haired Anne Shirley with great interest. The young people were able to get to know the characters in the book better and transport themselves into the world described by Lucy Maud Montgomery. The trip to the theatre was not only an enjoyable experience, but also a valuable lesson in culture, literature and music, as the performance included many songs.

CLEAN AIR DAY
Clean Air Day activities
In November, Poland celebrates Clean Air Day, established several years ago by the Arka Foundation in Bielsko-Biała, which works to improve air quality, among other things.
On this occasion, students from classes 7A and 7B participated in classes devoted to the problem of air pollution and its impact on human health and the environment.
At the beginning, the teacher gave a brief introduction to the main sources of pollution, such as smog, car exhaust fumes, smoke from chimneys and industrial activity. The consequences of breathing polluted air and ways of reducing harmful emissions were also discussed.
The pupils were then divided into groups and given the task of preparing short presentations on a selected topic related to air pollution. Each group could focus on a different issue, including types of smog, the impact of pollution on health, acid rain, the ozone hole, the greenhouse effect, the importance of urban greenery, and environmental measures to improve air quality. Using available materials, notes and their own knowledge, the pupils created clear and informative presentations.
After completing their work, the groups presented their results to the class, showing their posters and mind maps. Each presentation was followed by a short discussion during which the pupils asked questions and shared their observations.
